READS Homework Helper Announces Twitter Book Party with Acclaimed Children’s Author Patricia Polacco
The Reading Comprehension Experts Team Up with Hall of Fame Children’s Author for Interactive Discussion about Her New Book: Bun Bun Button
November XX, 2011 (Spring House, PA) – READS Homework Helper today announced that it will be hosting it’s second Twitter Book Party featuring Patricia Polacco, award-winning author of child and parent favorites such as Thank You, Mr. Faulkner and The Keeping Quilt. The online discussion for children and their parents is aimed to promote reading comprehension and will center around Polacco’s recently release book, Bun Bun Button. READS creator and reading specialist, Elaine Meyers, will lead the discussion with Polacco, using questions from the READS question cards. The Twitter Book Party will be held on Tuesday, December 6th at 7 pm, and is free for all participants.
Patricia Polacco is a beloved children’s author and the recipient of over a dozen awards for her work, including The Golden Kite Award for Illustration and induction to the Santa Clara Reading Council Author’s Hall of Fame in 1990. Her latest children’s book, Bun Bun Button is the story of an adorable stuffed bunny with a button nose, Bun Bun Button. The stuffed toy is loved by its child, Paige, who holds a special place for Bun that was made for her by her Gramma. Bun Bun Button accidentally embarks on an exciting journey after a balloon carries her up up and away. The story highlights the bond between grandparents and grandchildren, and celebrates the imagination of children and the deep connection that is formed with their childhood toys.
“As a huge fan of Patricia’s books, we are thrilled to have Patricia as the guest author for our upcoming Twitter Book Party,” said Mrs. Meyers. “The Twitter Book Party is the perfect opportunity for students and parents to interact with such an accomplished children’s author while strengthening their love for reading.”
“I am honored to be featured as a guest author for READS Twitter Book Party and am looking forward to the ‘Fire Talking’ electronically with students and parents,” said Patricia Polacco. “There is nothing more I love to do than tell stories. I am going to embrace the Twitter community and this will be my first electronic tweeting.”
